Me and Rupert Goody

I received the Korean edition of Me and Rupert Goody last week.

The jacket is made from some kind of funky material that feels almost like leather.

Under the jacket is a different, very shiny cover. (I wonder what she's saying....)

  1. My friend, Ann Whitford Paul, has a Korean edition of her picture book, If Animals Kissed Goodnight, and the cover is soft and plushy. Korean children's literature must be very textural!

  2. I teach at an English Language School, and we found a Korean student to translate the cover for you.

    This is his translation:

Rupert Goody and Me (Almost the same title ;-) )

    By Barbara O'Connor
Translated by Kim Jong Bok (He was not sure how to spell this.)

    Inside the bubble it says:
"Since Rupert Goody came into my life everything is turned upside down." Then there is a Korean proverb which he said means something like: "A new stone will kick the old stone out of its place."

The smaller writing in the bubble says:
This is a School Library Journal Book
    All American Library Association Book
    Dolly (Gray?) Recognition Prize

    Hope this eases your curiosity.
