Naughty Ruby

Ruby is back to her thieving ways. 

She ran off this morning and stayed gone for about 20 minutes (while I drove around the neighborhood in my pajamas).

She came back with this giant rawhide bone, which she STOLE.

She was NOT sharing it with Martha. (In fact, she would not share it with me until I offered roast chicken.)

No, I do NOT see you back there, Martha.

I was going through some old photos yesterday and came across this one.

Grace Lin's lovely Where the Mountain Meets the Moon had just come out - and Ruby was a baby, too! Awwww.

Ruby has been working on her hole for a long, long time.

She had a little help from Matty.

But mostly, she did it all by herself.

First there was Ruby, who just loves to dig and has dug a fine, fine hole for herself.

Ruby can't wait to get in the pool. Martha is still a little unsure.

How many times will she chase that ball? MANY...

Now the problem. After she gets out, she destroys the shrubbery.

Two weeks ago, a sweet little dog named Martha arrived as a new member of our family.

She came all the way from Indiana to Connecticut on this bus.

She enjoyed her car ride home to Massachusetts.

When we got home, Ruby was not very happy. She went to hide in her hole.
