Bum thumb
If you have a bum thumb (like me) or other hand problems, here's my new pen discovery. Really does help! (Now if they would just make one called Dr. Gripe.)

Watching what you eat
I got this new app on my iPhone called Meal Snap.
You take a picture of food and it identifies it and gives the approximate calorie count, then stores them by calendar days.
We were playing around with it during Easter dinner.
It's pretty amazing. It actually identified the chocolate mousse on the spoon!!

"Why don't we discuss this?" she suggested.
A fascinating discussion about "Said is Dead" initiated by author Augusta Scattergood on her blog.
Would love for both sides to chime in. (I did.)

A Dog's Way Home
A Dog's Way Home by Bobbie Pyron
A lost dog.
A broken-hearted girl.
A fast, fast, fast full-steam-ahead pace.
Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains (my heart's home).
What more could you want?
Pyron doesn't mess around. That little dog was in a crate and tumbled down the side of a mountain on PAGE 8!!!

I love these folks!! They are passionate about children's literature and spread the love in so many ways.
I'm honored to be featured on their Book of the Day page.

South Carolina Part 1
I'm so happy to be down in South Carolina.
The trees are lush and green.
The dogwoods are in bloom.
It's 78 degrees.
Grownups and children say, "Yes, ma'am."
I had a homemade pimiento cheese sandwich on white bread and sweet tea with my relatives.
And there are Piggly Wiggly stores.
What could be better?
McDonald Green Elementary School, that's what.
