For those of you who wanted to know....
...laundry detergent does freeze if you leave it in your car overnight in 18 degree weather.
And frozen laundry detergent does expand.
And expanded laundry detergent, well....
....you get the picture.

This reminds me of the time we were out of dishwasher detergent and my husband (I wasn't home!) thought it was okay to use dish soap instead.
I came home to find wall-to-wall suds.
