Yoohoo!

What am I going to do with SEVENTY Yoohoo boats?

I can't tell you yet.

But trust me, it takes a long time to make 70 Yoohoo boats.

(And B, aren't you impressed? I sure could have used your help when I was making these!)

Sounds like a school visit prop to me. Know any schools next to streams?

are you having a book party?

I knew you were going to ask that, Grace! Alas, no. I just don't have it in me. But I'm having a party in my mind. hahaha

And these would be great party favors, for sure.

By the way, Grace, if you ever want a second career as a Party Planner, I'd hire you in a heartbeat. You are Party Planner Extraordinnaire.

It may take a long time to make the boats but I bet it took longer to drink the stuff inside...

I know -- you are going to lash them together and enter in next year's milk carton boat race on Green Lake in Seattle!

I promise to come cheer you on and bring towels.

Love the boats! Just finished The Small Adventure of Elvis and Popeye with my students. They loved it! One of my students has been bringing in one YooHoo box a day from his lunch. When we collect 26, we will each be attempting to make our own Yoo Hoo boats.

Karen: How cool! If you want to send me a picture of all their boats, I will post on the blog. Thanks for sharing this!! And glad they like the book!

My 7 year old daughter, who has previously read nothing but Rainbow Fairy books, was encouraged to read Popeye and Elvis and devoured it!! Now, the three kids and I are trying to make Yoohoo boats. I've got the cutting, but where do I fold? I must add that half the fun is coming up with the clues that they would share, revealing a bit about their lives. Thanks for the inspirational reading!!

Amy, if you email me, I'll send you a picture. You actually UNfold one end. You cut the top half of the carton off but leave one end and then unfold it, if that makes sense.
