Hey, is that Scrivener I see on your screen? I just started using that program for my latest revision. It took me awhile to figure out what it could do, but now I like it. What do you think of it?
And more importantly, what do your dogs and cat think of it?
Sara: I LOVE Scrivener!! Love it. But then, I'm kinda anal like that. I love the visuals of it. I love the organization of it. And my dogs and cat ador it. :-) (But then, we also love anything that is Mac exclusived. Ha!)
Oh, yes, now I see your older posts about it.
I haven't written anything from scratch on it yet, but I found it to be really helpful during a major revision. I imported an entire manuscript, chopped it up into index cards and started playing. I don't think I would have been as bold without the colorful visuals to guide me as I moved huge chunks of text around.
I might be able to use these photos as proof for a few of my fourth graders (well, only one, really -- a very literal thinker) that the author of How to Steal a Dog is not herself an experienced pet thieving criminal in disguise as an author! We are at the part where the kids have visited Willy for the second time. I had an opportunity to read aloud for 45 (GLORIOUS) minutes last week, and they listened raptly the whole time!
The pics also make me miss terribly having a dog asleep on the floor under my desk, and they make me extremely glad there is no room ON my desk for the cat. She makes do with my lap.
