Okay, that's it....

I've officially had it with winter.

Snow, I can handle.

But ice?

Fuggedabout it!!!

Yesterday I went to the grocery store.

When I came back, I couldn't get into my driveway.

My driveway slopes uphill and is A TOTAL SHEET OF ICE.

I had to leave the car at the end of the driveway.

I got out of the car.

I tried to walk across the driveway to get into the house.

I HAD TO CRAWL, PEOPLE!!

CRAWL!

I'm not kidding you.

Can you even picture it? There I am - a grown woman - crawling across my driveway.

And to make the picture even more colorful:

I was SLIDING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY even while I was crawling!!!

I think I'm ready to play shuffleboard with the blue-hairs in Boca.....

Ditto me on the ice. And I haven't even had to crawl in it!!

Our front walk is still a sheet because it's shaded during the day, but all of the big slabs flew or slid off the car today while we drove around doing errands. We're making progress...bit by piece.

Come on down! Join the Blue Hairs! No ice here, ever. In fact-- nooo, I won't tell you the temp today and what's predicted for later this week. Seriously, escape the ice! At least come visit! G.

I know what you mean about the ice. At my son's wedding reception yesterday, the parking lot was a thick sheet of ice. Guests walked very slowly.

I just found your site, I am a wanna be published writer of children's books.

Oh, I hear you on the ice! I landed on my bum last week... luckily wasn't hurt (thank you, big, down-filled coat and, um... personal built-in padding) My biggest fear is breaking the "work" arm.

So glad to hear Phoebe is doing better! :-)

I can picture it because I've been there -- crawling up my own driveway.

Then, last week, I heard my name being yelled from outside. I ran to the garage, and my husband was 3 feet from getting inside, but everytime he stepped on the driveway, he slid back down. I eventually managed to pull him in with the handle of a broom, but I'm sure we were an amusing pair to watch!
